Kern County gets $11.2M in state aid for training displaced oil, gas workers

The Employment Development Department has awarded Kern County $11.2 million to help provide job training and support services to displaced oil and gas industry workers.

The funding for this grant was requested by Governor Newsom and will be distributed by the EDD. The $11 million is only a portion of the total $26.7 million grant the state is giving to four different locations.
